The neighborhoods that create the larger Tigard area are in the far southwest of Portland just below Beaverton and just above Tualatin. With Hwy 99 running through the middle and with Hwy 217 curving around the east side there are many back road short cuts to Scholls Ferry & Newberg and points south.
Hwy. 99 itself is primarily commercial and connects most of Portland through to points SW such as Sherwood, Newberg & Dundee.
Development the past 10 years has filled out both Bull Mt. neighborhoods with typically larger, newer homes–many with amazing views. Other parts of Tigard proper are made up of older & spacious two level ranches & larger 1970′s architecturally styled homes, with some of the developments in the 80′s a bit dated and more cookie cutter. The styles vary widely from each neighborhood and the name of the city you actually live in bounces between Portland and Tigard.
